The 2015 ROAR Fuel Off-Road Nationals ended in dramatic fashion - not with the incredible down-to-the-final-lap battles we saw last year, but in one of the most incredibly dominating performances in RC history that tied and broke some of the most esteemed records in RC racing history. After setting the fastest time in Truck and second-quickest seed time in the first round of controlled practice, Ty Tessmann came within 2.7 seconds in the fourth round of Buggy qualifying (testing finals tires having already secured the overall TQ) of complete perfection. He won seven of the eight qualifying rounds and led every single lap over two finals totaling 105 minutes, leaving AMain.com’s Silver Dollar RC Raceway in Chico, CA, with two more national championships to his credit. In doing so, he tied the record for most national championships (3) in 1/8-Scale Fuel Truck and Buggy, and became the first driver ever to sweep the event twice. His six combined ROAR Fuel Off-Road National Championships are also the most ever.

In between the two finals, the first-ever Junior 1/8-Scale Buggy Final was held with the top thirteen drivers under the age of 16. Tyler Jones from Rochester, IN pulled off his best Ty Tessmann impression, speeding off from the front of the grid and leading every lap.

That wraps up LiveRC’s coverage of the 2015 Fuel Off-Road Championships from AMain.com’s Silver Dollar RC Raceway. Congratulations to Ty Tessmann and Tyler Jones!
