While cruising the Facebook news feed yesterday we were shocked to see a post by A Main Hobbies saying, "New Year, new gear! Here's a few laps at Hot Rod Hobbies with Chad Bradley, breaking in his new Mugen Seiki MBX6R for the 2012 season.." with the video below of Bradley wheeling his MBX6R buggy.

Immediately we took a trip back in time as Chad Bradley was once a long-time Mugen driver and dominating force on the track with the MBX5. Somewhat excited to see Chad "back to his roots", we then began thinking about the rest of the A Main Hobbies team drivers. Is everyone going to be running Mugen? If so, why Mugen over JQ? Will A Main Hobbies quit carrying JQ Products?

We wanted answers to our questions, and none other than A Main Hobbies owner Kendall Bennett was nice enough to answer them for us!

LRC: We saw the Facebook post about Bradley running Mugen, does this mean the whole team will run Mugen for 2012?

Kendall: No, the entire team will not be running Mugen. The drivers on our A-level team (which will be announced shortly) will all be running a mix of vehicles of their choice, since they are sponsored 100% by us; this way, our team represents a wider range of the brands of products that we sell.

LRC: Why the change from the entire team running JQ again for 2012?

Kendall:
We decided it was better to have our top team guys run the products that they want to run and not have any ties to any particular manufacturer, so they can change at any time. If the JQ car is improved before the World Championships and if Chad or any of our team guys want to run it, they can switch. This gives us the most amount of flexibility when it comes to the products they run.

LRC: Will A Main Hobbies continue to carry the JQ Products, despite the change?

Kendall: Yes, we still plan to carry the JQ products and fully support them in 2012. We will have a 50% team we are rebuilding for the JQ car and are looking for drivers. JQ has a lot of plans to improve the product for 2012 above and beyond the most recent improvements, and we will support those changes as they get released.

After speaking with Kendall, it all makes sense now! With Bradley back to Mugen, could this be his year for a championship? Who do you think the new un-announced A Main Hobbies drivers will be?
