Main Photo: SPY SHOT: New Tekin servo coming soon?

While packing up last night after the inaugural Manufacturers World Cup at A Main Performance Hobbies' Silver Dollar RC Raceway, we spotted what looks like a prototype Team Tekin Racing servo in team manager Randy Pike's e-buggy.

Randy's MBX7R Eco was leaning up against his duffel bag without the body in place when our photographer snapped a stylish shot...and when he emailed the rest of our crew some of the pics he took yesterday we noticed the red-anodized lower segment of what looks to be an all-aluminum case, with the Tekin logo engraved. Here's the same photo zoomed in - though it's still tough to see any other details.

It sure looks like a standard-sized case, and given that it was used in 1/8-scale buggy we imagine it will use some sort of metal gears. That's a ProTek RC clamping aluminum servo horn bolted to it, which says "25TF" - indicating the servo will use the industry-standard 25-tooth spline. It would make since that it'd be HV-compatible, since the Tekin RX8 GEN3 ESC installed has a programmable BEC to take advantage, but those are just guesses.

With such finished machine work on the outside, it looks like this servo could be close to production-ready. Perhaps we'll learn more about it this week?
