As some of you may know, I am from the midwest. Here in the midwest we receive a wide variety of weather conditions that ranges from flooding rains in the early spring, tornadoes in late spring, drought in the early summer, humidity and oven baking temperatures in the late summer, and blizzard like conditions in the winter.

To survive the floods I live in a house on top of a hill. To survive the tornadoes I have a tornado shelter in my basement. To survive the drought I stock up on bottled water. To survive the humidity and oven baking temperatures I have three fans and an air conditioner in my bedroom to sleep at night. To survive the blizzard...I've got nothin'.

There is nothing more heartbreaking, pain-staking, and dream killing to me than hearing the three words, "Winter Weather Advisory".

Some people love snow. Kids get the days off school, sledders and snowboarders get days of fun, snowmobilers get days to shred trails, snow plow guys get days to make money, and so on. For all of those people, congratulations, we are in a Winter Weather Advisory.

For those of you who are like myself, and HATE...I repeat HATE winter weather, I wish you the best of luck.

Why do I hate winter weather you ask? Could it be the kids out of school who want to play snowball fight with the wheelchair guy stuck in the front yard? Could it be the fact that every time I build a snow igloo the dog pees on the front door? Could it be every time I dress warm enough I look like the Michelin man rolling through town? How about the snow pile on the driveway that my station wagon refuses to climb over? Maybe it's the dogs who won't step in the snow because their little paws get cold, so they poop at the edge of my front door? Wait...whats this...a family of raccoons has moved in for the winter to stay warm. No they don't have to pay rent and tell them go ahead, continue eating anything and everything in the garage...that's fine!

The local weatherman says we are getting 12-16" of snow tonight, looks like I better get my snowballs, doggy diapers, Michelin suit, snow shovel, pooper scooper, and guest room ready as we are in for another doozy of a Winter Weather Advisory...

(Swell...a "life-threatening" amount of snow for the kids snowball attack on me. Thank you Winter Weather Advisory.)
