POLL: What off-road racing surface do you like best?

LAST WEEK'S RESULTS

"What is your favorite RC racing discipline?"

Disappointingly, the super-cool mapping software our survey program used wouldn't load the results to last week's survey that asked for your favorite racing class from 10 different answers - but even though three of our Facebook followers pitched in with "nitro on-road" as their answer, which had been omitted from the list, the overwhelming response from everyone who participated voted in favor of electric off-road - with 2WD edging 4WD in a landslide. So few were the votes for every other class that, when the percentages were rounded, 100% of the counted responses worldwide voted for either of these two buggy classes.

We've known for years that on-road racing in the U.S. had waned considerably, especially compared to European countries, but those voters in this survey leaned toward 1/10-scale off-road as well. Even viewed within the vacuum that LiveRC readers are predominately skewed toward off-road racing anyway, this is still an alarming statistic. While the most watched races on LiveRC are nitro off-road, our readers (clearly) prefer racing electric every weekend, a statement that I'm sure would be cemented as fact if given access to the sales numbers of the brands within our industry.
