While a daily IFMAR meeting ran long on Tuesday evening after the first two rounds of qualifying were complete, a storm hit the track around 8:00 pm local time - and proceeded to drench the track. It started with some of the reports wondering if we were seeing things, or if there really was lightning in the distance...until we heard the accompanying thunder. The strikes grew more frequent, and then it began hailing and causing quite an awful racket on the metal roof of the "press suite." Within 15 minutes, it was pouring.
We'll have to wait and see how this affects the race, but for now you can watch these videos shot from the media room.
