It takes a finely tuned racing machine to make the semifinals at the IFMAR World Championships. Competing at this level requires razor-sharp reflexes, impeccable control, and the ability to tackle rough sections of the track. Enduring six rounds over three days of qualifying is brutal, so a racing vehicle must be tough and well built. In order to keep the machine running at peak performance it must be fed a steady diet of high-quality fuel and outfitted with only the best gear.

Notes: Carson adapted quickly to the jet lag and has been enjoying the food here in Italy. He thinks the track is a lot of fun, as well, and is very pleased to have qualified directly into the semifinals - capping off a terrific first year with Mugen Seiki. The budding entrepreneur is running his "Carson's Body" by Russ Wernimont Designs.

Carson's arms are sculpted from doing curls with his Futaba 4PKS-R, and he maintains his physique through the light aerobic workout regimen of turn marshaling. His arms are wrapped in light-ish skin, which is easily damaged by both UV radiation and mosquito bites.

Carson chooses vans for style, rather than a more supportive shoe that may provide better support and traction. Carson's ankles are tuned for a slight bit of toe-out, which allows him to change direction quickly, as well as few degrees of positive camber which indicates proper integrity of the longitudinal arch.

Carson's 17-year-old eyeballs require no assistance to see to the far corners of the Naxos World Track. Despite his unkempt eyebrows and light eyelashes, Carson's blue irises dazzle Italian women with whom he is too shy to converse.

Without his father in Italy to wrench for him, Carson's hands show a significant amount of wear and lack of maintenance. They're doing something right, however - because his MBX7R has been great all week long and he has driven himself straight to the semifinals.
