Like how it's done for other IFMAR Worlds events, the drivers in the 1/12-scale competition were sorted into their qualifying heats using their fastest three consecutive laps accrued during yesterday's final two timed practice sessions. Unlike the complicated points and shuffling procedure used at the 1/8-scale off-road race two weeks ago, however, this week's racers were simply grouped together by overall speed - meaning that the fastest drivers from practice were all packed into the final heat of the round.
