Like every other IFMAR event, the conclusion of this year's Electric On-Road Worlds ended with the announcement of the host location for the next race to be held in two years time. Just after the final A-Main finished and before the trophy photos were taken, IFMAR officials Bob Ingersoll (ROAR) and Charlie Sribodhi (FEMCA) announced that the 2016 IFMAR Electric On-Road World Championships would be held in China.

Chairman Rick Wang accepted the bid on behalf of FEMCA (Far East Model Car Association) and CMAC, the sanctioning body for the People's Republic of China. The father of racer JJ Wang explained that a brand new facility will be built at the $15M Pheng Tai Sports Bureau in Beijing scheduled to be completed by May 2015. Among other activities, the facility will host various robotics, surface and air RC contests. and an outdoor asphalt track will be built - though it hasn't yet been decided if the race will be held on asphalt or carpet. The bid was submitted with the backing of the Chinese government, who will provide visas for all attendees, and a special activity day will be planned as a hospitality event between the 1/12-scale and ISTC portions. VPN's will even be provided so that visitors will be able to access Facebook.

Rick and CMAC hope that the IFMAR Worlds will help boost the popularity of RC in China and throughout Asia, and LiveRC is excited to make the trip!
