Dakotah Phend took 2wd mod buggy, mod truck, and mod short course with Joe Bornhorst taking 4wd mod buggy and 4wd short course in round 1 at the Midwest Champs.

In 2wd mod buggy it was Dakotah Phend who would strike first with the only 16 lap run. Behind him was TLR teammate Aaron Kothman in 2nd with Ryan Maifield (Yokomo) 3rd, Ryan Cavalieri (Yokomo) 4th, and Spencer Rivkin (Team Associated) 5th.

4wd mod buggy saw Joe Bornhorst (Tekno) put in a consistent run to take the opening round TQ. The HB Racing driver, Spencer Heckert, would finish 2nd with Spencer Rivkin in 3rd. Ryan Cavalieri would end up 4th with Mark Sousa (Xray) 5th.

Phend, Rivkin and Austin Horne (Team Associated) would top the times in 2wd modified short course, with Phend, Cavalieri, and Aydin Horne (Team Associated rounding out the top 3 in modified truck.
