Today is day 0 at the 2020 Nitro Challenge. All the teams are setting up today and getting pits and cars ready to go for the long week to come.
First thing noticed while walking around was a new TLR 8ight-X Truggy and we were able to grab a few shots of Dakotah Phend's truggy. When asked about the weekend he said he felt like he was in a much better place than last year even with being able to grab a podium in nitro buggy at this event 1 year ago.
Ryan Maifield was enjoying having setup the day before and watching everyone roll in today. Nothing new out of the Mugen Seiki camp, everyone seemed confident and excited when talking to Maifield, Drake, and Denney. Maifield joked to tell everyone he "felt nervous" but in all honesty is ready to go.
Elliot Boots is in a very position than this time last year, after Montpellier GP he said that the setup he left with made him feel super confident and is starting with that this weekend.
Joe Bornhorst and Jared Tebo have been practicing for a couple of days here in California as many others have. With multiple months on the new buggy platforms now they seem quite content and ready to go for the week ahead. Both seem pretty excited.
We have seen rumors of some new Team Associated parts on TJ Eller's car at Motorama but haven't seen the parts here yet.
Still waiting to see more drivers and talk to other teams but here is a little update on what is going on. Drivers are hitting the practice track as this is posted to get things squared away.
