The first round of the 2022 edition of the Italian Championships dedicated to 12th scale classes took place at the indoor track of RC Landia in Scandiano this past weekend. The race kicked off the 2022 sporting season of the Italian RC Car Racing Federation ACI Sport (member of the FIA).
In GT12, traditionally run in Italy according to BRCA rules (homologated GT12 chassis, 13.5T motors, homologated GT12 bodyshells and Control Tyres), Mattia Dall’Oca (Team Schumacher) showed some rediscovered form and after losing out the TQ to Luca Tassinari during the qualifiers, drove flawlessly in the finals to take the win ahead of Alberto Montecchi (Mon-tech Racing) and Davide Mischiatti (Team Schumacher).
In LMP Modified, reigning Italian Champion Marco Mazzini took it from where he left it in 2021 and displayed speed and consistency throughout the day to take the win ahead of Alessio Tolomelli (Team Marka) and Marcello Galli.
