Race report by Chris Lovely
Round 4 of the Schumacher winter series presented by the Louth radio control car club took place this past weekend in the UK. The event is the largest of its kind in the Lincolnshire area of the UK.
With a strong entry of 60 drivers split over two classes, we was looking for some strong results for the XRAY brand
In the 13.5 class Chris Lovely was able to take TQ in 3 of the four qualifying rounds and line up on pole in the 13.5 blinky class.
The 1st round of practice was a great start in the lower grip conditions that the club races in and with some small changes throughout the day my XRAY X4 with worked amazingly well
Chris was able to take victory in the single legged A final, after pressure for most of the race. With this result he would take the championship with a perfect score and with one round to spare.
Gabriel Henson would have a strong showing with his X4 to complete the podium and finish 3rd. Strong result for junior driver Harvey Greenfield making his first A final of the series with his T4.
13.5 results:
In the 17.5 class XRAY had a strong contingent of cars from the club racers.
Andrew Twigger would take the last round of qualifying with his x4, a thousandth of second ahead of Pau Sleight.
Andrew would place pressure on the leader early on, resulting in a mistake. His XRAY worked flawlessly allowing him the bridge a gap and take the overall victory. Paul Sleight would come home 3rd with his T4, marginally behind 2nd.
17.5 results:
The win in the 13.5 class seals the overall series, and the victory in the 17.5 class takes the championship to the final round.
