Report by Zak Finlay
EWS round 3 was held this past Sunday in the south of England. The XRAY UK team were in attendance and hoping to continue their recent run of good form.
In the 17.5 stock class, Team XRAY’s Zak Finlay was able to pick up where he left off at the previous round, by taking the fastest time in all four rounds of qualifying. Zak was joined in the A-Final by the XRAY’s of Tony Broad, Ricky Copsey, Sam Nicholls and Mason Weston. 5 cars in the A-Main made XRAY the most well represented brand in the A-final.
In the A-Final Zak was able to build a small gap during the opening laps and then maintain that throughout the final to take the overall victory. This victory sealing the overall stock championship for EWS this season, with two rounds remaining.
Stock results:
In Modified, Kyle Branson was able to achieve the same results as Zak to take all four rounds of qualification and line as Top Qualifier for the single leg A-Main. Harley Eldridge maintained her fast pace from the previous races and was able to line up a strong 2nd place making it an XRAY 1-2 after qualification. Marcus Askell and Adam Southgate made it 4 XRAY’s in the modified A-Final.
In the final Kyle was able to hold the lead throughout to take the win ahead of Harley who had a great battle with the 3rd place car in the opening laps. Kyle now places himself in a good position to potentially seal the season title at the next round in February.
Modified results:
Overall another successful weekend for the XRAY team who will be back for round 4 in February.
