Report by Keven Hebert
This past weekend held the Canadian On-Road National in Welland Ontario just outside of Niagara at the Seaway mall. The race is held in the center court of the mall with a lot of spectator coming by to see the live action from the 4 day event.
Mark Frechette and his crew once again did a fantastic job putting on another great event. The race attracted a total of 347 entries with open practice on Thursday, 2 qualifiers on Friday, 2 more on Saturday and single mains on Sunday.
Right From the start both my Xray cars felt very good on this technical track and I was able to Take TQ in all 4 rounds of both modified classes to start on pole for Sunday’s final. In the Touring car main I was able to pull a lead early on and slowly extend the lead to take the victory in front of Douglas in 2nd and Barret in 3rd. In the Modified 1/12 main, I had a lot of pressure from Leonard for the first 2 minutes we had a great Battle until he made a mistake and then I could cruise to take a tone to tone victory with a perfect week end in both classes.
Another cool feature is they had a Manufacture award. It is an award given to the manufacture who won the most classes and we manage to bring it for home for XRAY after everything was over with Xray winning 4 classes at the event
