When it comes to any form of racing, to be competitive it isn't going to be cheap, however, you might be surprised at where you can save some cash along the way by innovating household items to work for your R/C racing needs. While this video from multi-time champion Ty Tessmann isn't new, it was new to me when I stumbled across it recently, and I felt as though it was worth a share.

Who knew that braiding horses hair, getting a flat on your dirt bike, playing a friendly game of darts, or finding that old putty knife from when you fixed the hole in the wall could be so beneficial to your R/C car racing!?
