As you may know the AMS 2011 is just around the corner, and spots are filling up fast we were able to catch up with Alan Burton for a interview, here is what Alan had to say about some of the great things drivers can expect:
LiveRC: With the upcoming AMS 2011 rapidly approaching, what are some new and unexpected things drivers can look forward to while attending this year?
Alan Burton: This year we are going to have another HUGE sponsor package for the racers. In 2010 I feel like we offered the racers more in prizes than any other event in the country. We had nearly $50,000 in prizes. For 2011 we are going to up the challenge level on the layout! We are going to give the racers something great to experience with the layout. We are also going to have the "Shootout Challenge".
This will be a offroad video game for the Xbox and racers will get to try for fast times, the racer at the end of the event with the fastest time will walk away with a flat screen tv and a xbox 360!
LiveRC: That's awesome, sounds like there is gonna be some great prizes available for the guys on the stand this year. Can you give us a little incite to the facility this year, I am sure we have all seen the track idea's but is there going to be some unmentioned flair added in to surprise guys when the arrive for the first day of practice?
Alan Burton: Sure... I like to put the layout ideas out there for racers to see and have a "general" idea, but saving the best for the week leading up to the event. However, I really look up to Joey(The Dirt) and his building skills so I want to do a large man made step off and then a jump up to a platform. Racers can expect a world class layout! Stay tuned the week before for layout vids!
LiveRC: awesome can't wait to see the finished layout, in conclusion is there anything guys should know in preparing to head over the the AMS this year?
Alan Burton: It's coming soon so racers need to get signed up as this event is only 100 spots from being full! If you have any questions please email me at
