Not only does AMain.com sponsor teams of talented RC racers (and helicopter pilots as well!), but AMain's PR coordinator Jason Sams blogs about their activity at
blog.amain.com. Last week, Jason posted an interesting article written with the help of race team manager Marty Korn, who also coordinates drivers for ProTek RC and SWorkz. Korn indicated what the brand looks for when reviewing applications from prospective representatives.
Here's the post - tell us what you think in the comments below:
From AMain.com:
It’s that time of year when top pro drivers are switching teams, privateer racers are looking for sponsors and teams are looking for excellent representatives to promote their brands. AMain.com team manager Marty Korn has been running the AMain/ProTek teams for several years. Marty receives hundreds of inquiries from racers all over the world looking for sponsorship. You may be surprised to hear that AMain sponsors several of the world’s top pro racers in addition to dozens of representatives all over the world. Marty knows what he is looking for in racers to represent AMain and ProTek R/C and shares those traits right here in our Team Blog:
- Professionalism- Treat your sponsorship as a job. Your sponsors have invested in you and have entrusted you to represent their name and brand. This should not be taken lightly.
- Positive attitude- Appreciate that you get to do something most people dream of. Racing RC cars is a very rare opportunity and even fewer get to do it for a living or receive products for free or at a steep discount.
- Helpful- Use your experience and knowledge to make a difference, especially at your local track and in your region. We all started as newcomers once and needed a lot of help with set up, track etiquette, knowing how races are run etc… Be the one to make a difference and you’ll be more likely to be recognized for your efforts.
- Friendly- Being approachable is the key difference between a factory driver and a factory driver that is doing his job. If you’re friendly and anyone can walk up to you for help or advice, you’ll be an asset to your sponsors.
- Knowledgeable- Sharing the things you have learned with others is the best use for that knowledge. Pass on what you know to those who are interested in learning and getting better.
