The 9th rendition of the Alabama Manufacturer's Shootout concluded yesterday with Ryan Maifield and Joe Bornhorst coming out victorious in the pro classes. This event was as much about racing the track as the other racers with quite a few difficult obstacles including the infamous quad.
Pro Nitro Buggy:
Ryan Maifield would take the win despite what our results say, I assume he was miscounted a lap at some point during the race. Ryan Cavalieri would finish up 2nd with Jared Tebo finishing 3rd. Spencer Rivkin and Tyler Jones would round out the top 5.
Pro Nitro Truggy:
Early TQ Spencer Rivkin would run into trouble in the back jump line collecting the rest of the top 6 in the first 5 minutes with Joe Bornhorst being the lucky beneficiary. Bornhosrt would go on to take the win, Rivkin would retire, this would allow Jared Tebo and Ryan Lutz to finish out the top 3 with Cole Ogden and Tyler Jones Rounding out the top 5.
Pro Electric Buggy:
A unique format of dual mains with only one counting would supply the action for this year's event. Ryan Maifield would take the win in A1 with Joe Bornhorst 2nd and Jared Tebo 3rd. In the second main Tebo would take the win from Ryan Cavalieri would finish 2nd and Spencer Rivkin would finish 3rd. Due to the interesting tie breaker format, Maifield would take the win with Tebo and Cavalieri rounding out the top three and Bornhorst and Rivkin rounding out the top five.
In the open classes Chris Rakus would take all three main event wins, Bradley Rippee would win Etruggy, Austin Hughes would win short course, T.J. Bradley would win 40+ Ebuggy with Gary Studt winning 40+ nitro buggy. Phil Iorio would win Sportsman Truggy and Sportsman Buggy, and Justin Vaughn would win Sportsman Ebuggy. Finally Mason Fuller would take the win in 15U Nitro Buggy.
