This past weekend we announced that this will be the final season that we will be running a race series.

We're in the endgame now...

What started 4 years ago between Pit Stop Hobbies and Mushroom Bowl Hobbies and R/C Raceway as an experiment to see if a 10th scale race series could work in this region and much to our surprise it was a success. Our goal was to bring attention to 10th scale racing in the summer in a time where there wasn't much going on for 10th scale.

Our region was heavily biased towards 8th scale racing in the summer and there were tons of options for 8th scale racers with very little options for 10th scale racers.

In the 4 years that we've been running this race series we've seen a shift towards more people continuing to race 10th scale over the summer. We've seen tracks work better together and even some tracks running their own race series. We've even seen ROAR Region 2 start to support the 10th scale racers.

With that said I believe we've achieved our goals and the race series has run it's course.

So please come out to the final race in the series at Trains & Lanes on July 27th to show your support for the race series and one last chance at getting some great prizes.

We couldn't have done this without the great support from the racers and track owners.

  • DRP RC RACEWAY (Old Forge, Pa)
  • Trains & Lanes (Easton, Pa)
  • Richfield Raceway (Richfield, Pa)
  • The Track in Gaithersburg, Maryland (Gaithersburg, Md)
  • Adrenaline RC Raceway (Winchester, Va)
  • G's R/C Raceway (Shippensburg, Pa)
  • Pit Stop Hobbies (Mount Joy, Pa)

We would also like to thank our event sponsors for supporting the racers in this region.

  • AKA Products Inc..
  • Atomik RC (Venom Power)
  • Hobbywing North America
  • Hitec / Multiplex USA
  • Common Sense RC
  • Absolute Hobbyz
  • Boca Bearing Company
  • Exotek Racing
  • Kimbrough Racing Products
  • Pro-Line Racing
  • Stackedrc
  • Sticky Kicks RC
  • Gravity RC
  • Maclan Racing
  • Xpert RC USA
  • Leadfinger Racing
  • JConcepts Inc

Finally we'd like to thank Punched RC for taking the leap of faith and becoming our first and only title sponsor. We'd like to thank Spencer at Vinyl Creations for working with us to create the custom awards each year for the series and races.

Last but not least I'd like to thank the great team that made it possible to run such a smooth program.

James Furgeson as our race announcer, Jamie Groff and Donald Grove as our track officials, Jason Houseman as the Tech Inspector, Ethan Houseman as the Dog Days Table Manager, Thomas Kauffman as our previous years race announcer. Matt Bridges as our previous years tech Inspector, and finally my son Kyle Duffy as our previous years Dog Days Table Manager. I know how you've all missed his cheery disposition.

While this may be the end of the race series this isn't the end of the road for Dog Days. Stay tuned for more details to be released in the near future.

As a final thought we've seen tracks come and go over the years so we urge everyone to please support your local hobby shops and race tracks.
