Atomik Event Report:

Atomik was in attendance to see and be seen at the season opener of the Lucas Oil Outdoor Pro Motorcross Championship Series. We brought out the new Brian Deegan Metal Mulisha MM450 radio control dirt bike equipped with the gravity defying new E-Gyro Electronic Stabilization System to demonstrate it to the public and media at the event.

The action packed event is held in the beautiful rolling countryside track 30min east of old town Sacramento known as Hangtown. The local motorcycle club called “the Dirt Diggers” hosted the annual event for a crowd of more than 40 thousand spectators packed shoulder-to-shoulder on the hillsides surrounding the track. The track boasts some huge hill climbs and high-speed descents through a variety of obstacles like whoops and jumps, while snaking around the valley course. Lap times are typically in the 2-minute range for most classes and a race is set to go 30 minutes plus 2 additional laps. There are 2 moto’s and the average of your finish in each race will determine your overall finish.

On Friday the pits and track are busy with teams feverishly preparing bikes and meeting with sponsors and industry reps. Since this is the season opener, you can feel the electricity in the air among teams as they prepare for this important race.

Even with the amount of traffic, the pit avenues were open enough to break out the MM450 and give it a spin. I pulled out a fresh Venom 2S LiPO battery and slammed it into the bike, with a flip of the switch the E-Gyro spooled up to life and I dropped the ¼ Scale Radio Controlled MM450 on the ground and it was like a spot light was turned on!  Everybody that could see the bike stopped to watch, I tore up and down the pit row in front of the haulers from Star Valley Yamaha and Rockstar Suzuki, just to name a few. Everybody kept commenting that it looked like a real bike, and it looked easy to drive.

Saturday was the main race day and the Hangtown facility was packed! The pits, spectator areas and the vendor row were all packed shoulder-to-shoulder with spectators trying to find the perfect view of the action.

I used this opportunity to drive the Atomik Brian Deegan Metal Mulish MM450 Dirt Bike in front of motorcross industry photographers for their respective magazines so we scouted a spot right by the media tent to shoot. It wasn’t even a minute into my first driving that we were surrounded by kids and adults asking questions and reacting to the MM450 sliding, jumping and roosting around their ankles. The photographers loved it and the crowd made a perfect backdrop for this impressive display of RC technology.

The race weekend was awesome on all levels, and it was great to be there showing off the newly released Brian Deegan MM450 Remote Control Motorcycle in front of so many dedicated motocross fans. It’s great to see kids faces light up watching the MM450 rip around, and by kids I mean big and small, because when adults see something this cool they revert back to their youth immediately!

By the end we had made a great impression on both industry people and the general public alike.

I look forward to the next opportunity to show off the Brian Deegan Metal Mulisha MM450 RC Dirtbike and hope to see you out at the races!
