Less than an hour ago, owners Larry and Debbie Cerquettini posted the following message to the track's Facebook page, notifying RC racing fans around Southern California that their indoor racing facility in San Bernadino, CA will cease operation immediately, and explained why.

Larry and I are announcing that we are closing IERC effective immediately. We are open at Thunder Alley still if you would like to continue doing r/c with us. You will find us there. (38900 Oak Valley Parkway Beaumont) We know it is abrupt, but our landlord has a buyer for his buildings and offered to negotiate a release of our lease for his deal to go through. We are taking it. We are both looking forward to our kids getting back to a normal schedule and putting them first again. Thank you to everyone that helped, contributed, supported, volunteered, donated or in general appreciated IERC, we thank you for making this dream come true for Larry and I. We are taking away the positives of this experience and consider IERC a 100% success. Thank you and hope to see you at the races

Loyal customers and visitors immediately expressed their support and wished the owners well in their future. As mentioned in the Facebook post, the Cerquettini's will remain in control of Thunder Alley RC Raceway, the outdoor track known for hosting two ROAR Fuel Off-Road National Championships, that's only 20 miles southeast of the now-closed IERC location.

As noted in comments to the original FB post, the IERC announcement has also forced the third round of the Top Notch Series to be moved to SCVRC - though no official statement has yet been made.
