As practice kicked off for the 31st annual CRCRC Winter Midwest Electric Off-Road Championships, reigning 2WD and 4WD World Champion Ryan Maifield's buggies hit the track with Hobbywing electronics and stickers.
The first sign that something had changed was this photo posted by the Columbus RC Racing Club on its Facebook page at 4 PM yesterday, showing Ron Schuur of Hobbywing North America in the Yokomo pits helping Maifield with speed control programming:
While no move has been officially confirmed by Hobbywing, Maifield or Team Orion — which announced a contract extension on December 15 (click here to read the press release) — the Arizona native doesn't seem to be keeping it a secret, with Hobbywing stickers clearly visible on his 2WD buggy.
