Main Day Report 1/22/2012
The day kicked off with the lower mains starting early. In all classes there was close racing right down to the wire as drivers tried to bump their way to the A-mains.
Sportsman Truggy A Main
Sportsman Trruggy A-main was full of twists and turns. The weekend's TQ, Chase Rogers, would start out front but struggled in the early laps dropping him back in the field. David Crank Jr. started second, however, after 20 minutes his race would come to an end on lap 49. It was the consistentcy of Brian Alderman who would sneak out front and take the win with Matthew Lust close behind and the bump-up driver Curtis Maglinger going all the way from 12th to 3rd!
Sportsman Buggy A Main
Sportsman Buggy was the "Dan Cook Show"! Dan started out front and would finish out front by almost two laps over the field. The man on the move was bump-up driver Paul Edwards charging from and 11th place start all the way up to 2nd. Mike Workman started in the 4th place spot but after some unfortunate events would strike Rodney Foley and Franco Rizzo, he would take over the final podium spot.
Electric 1/8 Buggy
Jesse Robbers TQ'ed qualifying in all three pro classes, but lap number one would spell trouble for Robbers. With a rough opening lap for Robbers, Ralph Krumme would inherit the lead swapping back and forth with Max Flurer. Krumme eventually began to stretch it out and just when he thought his lead was safe, a hard charging Jesse Robbers would turn a blistering fast 20.3 second lap. With time running out on lap 25 of 28, Robbers would take the lead away and finish three seconds ahead of Krumme and Flurer.
Pro Truggy A Main

Hot Bodies, Jesse Robbers, may have struggled a little in Electric 1/8, but he was not about to let it slow him down. Robbers started out front with his D8T and finish out front 3 laps ahead of the field. Shane Racer would follow in 2nd until his race ended at the 16 minute mark. CJ Weaver would battle his way with Chuck Berg back and forth with Berg barely missing the free lap. Weaver would take 2nd and Berg 3rd.

Pro Buggy A Main

Pro Buggy was the final race of the day and would see the fastest lap of the day! TQ, Jesse Robbers, started out front and never looked back. Robbers put his new CR8 to the test pushing it harder and harder as the race went on. On lap 116 he hit the only 19 second lap of the day with a 19.9! Robbers checked out securing a triple win at this year's CRCRC Nitro Championships! Shane Racer, who struggled in truggy, fought his way up into the second place spot with Dylan Gerard, Kevin Wilson, and Chuck Berg following.

Qualifying Report - 1/21/2012

While the weather outside is less than warm, the racing inside was heated today! As a full day of qualifying comes to end there was one man on top of it all. Team Hot Bodies, Jesse Robbers, secured the TQ spot in all three Pro Buggy, Pro Truggy, and E-Buggy! Robbers driving the all-new Hot Bodies CR8 buggy proved to be the fastest man on the track all day long. The Factory put together another impressive show and kept the track in prime conditions all day long.

Sportsman Truggy

Sportsman Truggy started off with Chase Rogers securing TQ for rounds 1 and 2 and looking to be the dominate force for the class. Rogers would be the only driver to turn 14 laps in the first two rounds. Round 3 would see Matthew Lust turning up the heat missing a 14 lap run by only 1 second to secure TQ for the round. David Crank Jr. started off qualifying rough, but put in a solid second place for the round with Rogers finishing 3rd. As the final round got under way, the only man who could challenge Rogers for the overall TQ spot was Matthew Lust. Unfortunately for Lust, a rough round would put him nearly a lap out of the TQ spot for the round, and instead David Crank Jr. would turn the only other 14 lap run for the weekend for the Rd. 4 TQ spot. Crank’s time was 5 seconds faster than Rogers 14 lap run in round 2. It is setting up to be an awesome battle for tomorrow’s A-main!

Sportsman Buggy

Sportsman Buggy was a three round sweep for Dan Cook! Cook would be the only Sportsman Buggy driver to reach the 14 lap mark for the day. After taking TQ in the first three rounds, he decided to save his equipment for tomorrow by setting out the final round. The real battle was for 2nd and 3rd. Rodney Foley would prove consistent by putting in two 2nd place finishes for 2nd overall. Franco Rizzo TQ’ed the final round, but with his next best finish being a 5th in Rd.1 he will start 3rd for tomorrow’s A-main. Mike Workman would also show consistent driving with two 3rd place finishes for a total of 6 points. Eric Case would also end the day with 6 points after a 4th and 2nd, but after the tiebreaker Mike Workman’s faster time will put him 4th on the grid followed by Case.

E-Buggy

Four round domination for Hot Bodies, Jesse Robbers, will put him first on the grid! Max Flurer would be the closest man behind Robbers finishing tenths of a second from a 15 lap run in Round 3. Flurer secured the 2nd place starting spot for the mains with 2nd place finishes one after another. Ralph Krumme missed the second place spot by one point and will be starting 3rd. CJ Weaver and Dave Taylor would battle back and forth for the 4th and 5th place spots. Weaver started out the day strong with a 4th, 5th, and a 3rd but ended the day with a 10th. Taylor would also put in a 3rd and 4th place finish, but a 16th in Rd. 3 would seal the deal for Weaver starting 4th and Taylor 5th.

Pro Truggy

Jesse Robbers would turn four rounds of 15 lap runs and dominating the Pro Truggy qualifying with his D8T! No other driver would get a 15 lap race, however in Rd. 3, Kevin Wilson would turn up the heat and miss it by only tenths.  An unbelievable battle between Shane Racer, Chuck Berg, CJ Weaver, and Kevin Wilson had the drivers swapping spots and finishing only seconds apart each round. In the end, all 4 drivers were tied in qual points! Shane Racer would come out in 2nd for tomorrow’s mains by having the next best finishes followed by Berg, Weaver, and Wilson.

Pro Buggy

Once again we would see a four round domination by the Hot Bodies superstar Jesse Robbers! Robbers driving the highly anticipated CR8 buggy, showed the buggy’s capability by hitting 15 laps every round (the only driver to get 15 laps all day).  Although he was the only driver to hit 15, Chuck Berg would go 2nd all four rounds missing the 15 lap run by ½ second in multiple rounds. Dylan Gerard would finish a strong 3rd place for the day. The Pro Truggy battle between Shane Racer and Kevin Wilson would carry over into buggy as the two would once again swap positions all day. In the end, Shane Racer’s 12th place finish in Rd.1 would drop him to 5th for tomorrow while Wilson starts 4th.

As we head back tomorrow for main day, we are anxious to see the racing in not only the A-main’s, but the lower mains as well! Seconds separated drivers from the A-main spots, and as tomorrow kicks off with Pro Buggy F Main, we know we won’t be disappointed!
