AMS Raceway hosted the annual "New Year's Race" bringing about some of the greatest racers in Michigan. Among those drivers was Team Losi Racing / Pro-Line factory driver, Dakotah Phend. Phend would go on to TQ and win both 2wd Modified Buggy and 4wd Modified Buggy.
