The first round of the Factory Tracks Midwest Series was held last weekend at AMS Raceway in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Over 180 entrants competed in every electric off-road class imaginable, from 2wd buggy to 1/8th E Truggy. The AMS facility provided an excellent venue for the event, which is the only indoor race on the FTMS calendar. The layout provided some high flying action for the fastest classes, but was still very manageable for all skill levels.
There were several accomplished racers in attendance from all over the region, including TLR/Horizon driver Dakotah Phend, who had a very good day, winning both the 2wd modified buggy class and the electric 1/8th buggy class. From here we head outdoors to the next leg of the FTMS series, which will be held at Stateline R/C Raceway in just a few weeks time.
