CML Race Report:

Continuing the success from the 2011 series the AE team started there 2012 road trip with another first round stunner.

ODB (Dave Bailey) turned on the style at his local club and put in a flawless drive to secure a knock out performance and first round victory. Fastest laps, fastest time and by far the most consistent driver and package on the day. Turn back the clock 12 months and Dave had put himself in a similar position by TQ'ing all 3 rounds of the 8-11 series but family commitments saw him packing up his kit and hitting the road for home before the finals started. This weekend Dave was intent on re-living that performance, taking it one step further, and finishing off the job.

Dave's intense pit man Chris 'Killer' Kilroy said "Dave drove awesome all weekend and deserved the win" - we couldn't agree more.

Howler was told he was running in 2nd place for the majority of the race so backed off and chilled out only to find that the computer had missed a lap off Lee Bunkers car so Jon settled for a solid 3rd place. Not a bad start to a new season and it already looks to be shaping up to be a great series. With a few dirt tracks thrown into the series this year it will be a good test for all those competing. Many of the tracks are new venues to the series which is always nice to see and there will be a few home advantages at a few of these venues so the results will flip and change throughout the course of the championship. Making it much more exciting and closer between the front runners.

Here are the A final results:

Its not all about results and although we did great at this race we are extremely proud of our team and the people we have in it. Its a pleasure to attend the races and it makes the weekend great fun for everybody. We all share information- we all have a laugh- and we all get along which is the most important part. Our Boot Campers are getting better and better every time they hit the track and I hope these guys are feeling the benefits of having such a great team around them.

Watch this space for more Midland Super Cup action in 3 weeks time. We will be doing a more comprehensive report for the next meeting and would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved in the race series and for providing us with a cracking platform for regional based races in the Midlands and giving some of the smaller clubs a chance to step up, benefit and learn about putting on some great races.

Everybody at CML racing and Team Associated would like to thank T_M_S_C and our great bunch of loons that we go racing with.
