LRP Race Report:
It couldn't have been a better start for Blue is Better. Ronald Völker dominates the modified class, while Oliver Franke wraps up his second ever stock class win!
A truly phenomenal start into the 2012/13 Euro Touring Series! LRP team driver Ronald Völker put down an impressive start-to-finish-victory by winning the first two A-mains in style starting from the pole position. He continued where he ended up in the very successful past season. Ronald is chasing for his third overall ETS victory in a row.
It was the same procedure in the very competitive stock class, where Oliver Franke dominated. Quickest after practise, pole position and wins in A-main one and two made him the season-opener winner in Germany.
Ronald proved to be very strong already in practise and qualification with his LRP powered Yokomo. Using the same material as he dominated last year’s season, Ronald was on a mission against some 99 other modified drivers for his next title defence. LRP Flow WorksTeam, Vector X20 Modified 4.5T and the LRP LiPo Competition Car Line Hardcase 6900 battery proved once more to be the unbeatable package.
Equipped with a perfectly set up car, qualification was followed by the finals. Despite some of the best touring car drivers in the world were participating, no one really had a chance to challenge Ronald for the win - it was a race for the second place. With perfect runs in A one and two, Ronald won the race and could sit out the last final where LRP team driver Juho Levänen with his brand new Flow high-end speedo took a well deserved win after two second places in the first finals to take the overall runner up spot in front of Yannic Prümper.
But there was another perfect story to tell. 172 stock drivers tried to catch LRP’s Oliver Franke, but they were chanceless. The young driver was simply unbeatable this weekend. His car, equipped with the LRP LiPo Competition Car Line Hardcase 6900 battery, was close to perfect. With two TQ rounds, pole position and wins in A-main one and two, Oliver showed the same outstanding show as Ronald did in modified.
Oliver also sat out the last final and watched the other nine drivers battle for the two other podium places. In the end, he saw Dominic Vogl taking the runner up spot ahead of Jan Asmer.
It was a perfect start into the season from defending champion Ronald, who was able to conserve his outstanding form. Dominating the race from practise to the finals, it couldn't have been a better start. The reliability and power of the LRP Vector X20 modified motor paid off once more and showed what Blue is Better can do. After winning last year’s German LRP-HPI-Challenge nationals, Oliver proved to be title contender even against 172 international racers. The performance of his LRP blue energy powered car was really sensational.
Thumbs up for an extremely outstanding performance of Ronald Völker and Oliver Franke and fingers crossed for the series next race in Hrotovice/CZ (January 18th to 20th, 2013).
