TLR Race Report:
The Sidewinder Nitro Explosion was this past weekend at ARC Raceway in Temecula, CA.
Taking the top grid position in the expert nitro buggy, expert nitro truck, and expert electric buggy class was TLR/Nova Rossi/Pro-Line driver Adam Drake. Drake TQ'ed 8 out of 9 rounds of qualifying. Ryan Maifield was able to TQ one round in nitro buggy over Drake by .05. The electric class ran two minute finals and the expert nitro finals were 45 minutes.
The start of the truck final is was a battle between Drake, Cavalieri, and Maifield. Cavalieri lead most of the race, but Drake took over the lead with four minutes to go. Shortly after Cavalieri had problems and Drake cruised to victory.
Drake won both of the 10 minute electric mains.
The final race of the weekend was the expert nitro buggy class and it was an epic battle between Drake and Cavalieri. The two drivers put on an amazing show battling the entire 45 minutes and exchange the lead multiple times on the last lap finishing only .4 apart after 45 minutes on intense racing. Cavalieri came out on top with Drake in second and Cody King finished third a little over two laps behind.
TLR also won the intermediate truck class in the hands of Tyler Brown and Andy Carrillo won the intermediate buggy class.
