EFRA COVID19 Update

Dear Federations, Board members, Honorary members, Associate members and RC friends around Europe,

I want to address you in those difficult times due COVID19 commonly known as Coronavirus. We are living tough times and we are seeing how difficult the situation in Europe is and also the whole World. Especially my thoughts in these moments are in countries where COVID19 have being devastating like in Italy and here, my country, Spain. Health and protect the population is the main goal for all Governments and without any doubt that all our concerns inside EFRA board are in same way. I hope that everybody of RC community are safe and recommendations of Governments in different countries must be our main concern.

For that reason, we are seeing more races within our community and also in major sports like F1, MotoGp and Football are being cancelled. In EFRA we are not unaware of this situation and that is why, since months ago, the EFRA board are having dedicated meetings to analyse the situation.

At the current time, EFRA is cancelling all EFRA races on the calendar starting before the 1st of July. Those races will be moved to next year on the same venue when possible.
The EFRA GP series in IC section and Large Scale, will be cancelled entirely.
EFRA consider it prudent at this time to use a 3-month rolling program to determine which meetings can start. Keep visiting the EFRA website for the latest updates.

Also, EFRA will keep consulting with each Federation and event organisers to assess on a meeting by meeting basis. Once we have feedback, we will use “force majeure” to determine which meetings will not run. Obviously, the status of each country will vary. We will have to take into consideration the number of entrants who can get there, the state of the travel infrastructure within Europe and the number of officials who can attend. These are unprecedented times and EFRA and IFMAR will have to make some tough decisions.
