Electric Buggy Worlds 2011 Stage 1 Report

Now that the 2010 IFMAR Nitro Buggy Off-Road World Championships are in the books, many of the drivers who do double-duty with nitro and electric and shifting their focus to electric. The 2011 IFMAR Electric Buggy Worlds will be held in Vaasa, Finland. From everything we have seen so far, the organizers are going all out to make this a top notch event, with their ultimate goal being to make it the "Best R/C Car Race Ever."

Today, the stage 1 report was released. The stage 1 report consists of many details such as hotel accommodations, contact information, time tables, information on the host country and organizers, and more. Most importantly to the racers, however, is the announcement of the official tire selection (or "tyre selection" for our European friends). The official handout tires for the worlds are as follows:

2WD:
Front: Open (any tire can be used)
Rear: JConcepts Double Dee's (Green compound) Part #: 3002-02

4WD:
Front: JConcepts Flip Outs (Green compound) Part #: 3039-02
Rear: JConcepts Flip Outs (Green compound) Part #: 3038-02

Inserts (2WD and 4WD):
For all tires except 2WD front, the stock JConcepts 1/10th buggy tire firm insert (Part #: 3203) must be used.
