TJ Eller has announced via Facebook that he will no longer be working for Team Associated in 2023.
"In 2016, shortly after graduating from NJIT, I had just settled into my career and post-graduation life when I got an email from Cliff Lett at Team Associated about an opportunity to join the RC industry. The decision to leave NJ was easy and hard at the same time. Hard to leave my friends and family but easy to move to a place where I felt I was always meant to be. Six weeks after that first email and I was starting my new life in SoCal and a new job as a Design Engineer at AE . It was a dream come true! My passion for RC is what lead me to a career in Engineering.
In my FIRST (!!!) week of work, I was racing at the Reedy Race! Conveniently the first year my lottery entry was accepted A lifelong dream.. and I wasn’t just racing.. I was getting paid to be there. It was surreal to work with people I grew up reading about in magazines; many of these people would end up becoming some of my greatest friends.
I’ve been able to travel to many amazing places around the country and race my RC car on some very cool tracks. That’s definitely one of the perks of the job but it’s also something I was expecting when I signed up for it.
What I wasn’t expecting however, is how much I loved interacting, mentoring, and learning from the RC community. It’s been a tremendous honor to be so involved with customers and racers and to see other people’s RC dreams come true.
Oh and.. I won two World Championship titles as a designer, which is pretty cool . Of course this was not possible without the exceptional team at AE - every department contributed equally to those victories. Truly the core value of #WeAreAE!
So, at this time I would like to officially announce that I will be resigning from my position as Senior Engineer at Associated Electrics, effective Jan 18. I can not understate my gratitude to Shawn, Cliff, and Curtis for taking a chance on me six years ago. Thank you to the racers, for supporting, trusting, and pushing me to the best version of myself and allowing me to design and produce the fastest RC cars in the world.
In my next career opportunity I will be leaving the RC industry but I won’t be retiring from RC. I’ll be racing and crawling with AE forever - that’s a promise." -TJ Eller
