Flashback: 2008
Ten years of crazy - the Psycho Nitro Blast
For the last ten years, the Psycho Nitro Blast has combined round-the-clock on-track action, incredibly challenging temporary courses built inside horse large horse arenas, and some of the fastest off-road racers on the planet to build its reputation as one of the biggest - and certainly most interesting - racing events in the South as well as the entire country.
Oh, and they’ve all been horror-themed. The event’s founders, Dave Leikam and Oliver Aspinwall, were co-owners of a haunted house in Georgia before starting the Psycho Nitro Blast back in 2008.
From 2009 through 2014, the Psycho Nitro Blast featured a jump contest - which started out as a world record attempt, but quickly morphed into a rocket-powered stunt fest.
The track layouts have always been complicated, with extreme features that tax man and machine.

The various sections receive crazy names like “Shock Therapy,” “Overdose” and “Dirty Needle” - and provide a sponsorship opportunity. This is the track this year:
Instead of being tired, terrified and traumatized, everyone has a great time.
After the first year of the Psycho Nitro Blast, each successive chapter of the annual event received a different name. Here are the race flyers from 2009-2017:
