One driver who may perhaps benefit most from the extra practice at this year's IFMAR Worlds is twelve-time Portuguese national champion Miguel Matias, who announced the switch from French engine marquee RB Concepts to the Spanish brand Ultimate Racing's Novarossi-based powerplants. Miguel, the 2003 European Champion who finished 2nd to Guillaume Vray at the 2004 IFMAR Worlds, said this on his Facebook page:
"After ending my contract with RB and after testing a few engines I decided to race with Ultimate Engines and Nitrolux Fuel at the WC."
