The Formula 1 R/C Grand Prix Series finished up Round #7 last weekend in Shanghai, China. The event brought Formula One enthusiasts from China, Japan, and Hong Kong.
T.O.P Racing team driver Wang Hai Feng made his Formula 1 debut racing the all new Rebel R-F101 kit. While this was Wang's few times driving Formula 1, the initial practice sessions and early qualifying did not look good for him. With a little fine tuning and setup changes Wang was able to step up in the final rounds of qualifying to start 3rd in the finals.
Wang took over the lead in Final #1 and brought home a victory. In Final #2 it appeared he would lock up the overall win as he was cruising to victory when suddenly a servo malfunction cost him the race. Final #3 was a bit chaotic and after multiple crashes involving most of the field, Wang was able to work his way from 6th back to 3rd at the finish.
