Tyler Hooks: When did you first begin racing?
Dreighton Stoub: I first began racing when I was 4 years old at the local track.
TH: What is your biggest racing accomplishment?
DS: Probably getting a 6 in round 4 at this years nitro nats with my first time running the car! I didn't end up where I wanted but the showed I could hang and was a huge confidence boost
TH: What is your worst racing failure?
DS: My worst racing failure was at this year's JConcepts indoor series race at Hobby Action. I TQ'd and just crashed myself out of the race. No but's, no what if's — I just crashed out.
TH: Where do you attend school, and what is your goal for a future occupation?
DS: I attend Hudsonville High School and I hope to take over my dad and his brothers family business along with my cousin.
TH: What is your favorite class?
DS: My favorite class is 100% mod buggy, just the power if you need it and it helps the most with your overall driving ability.
TH: Do you have a girlfriend?
DS: nah
TH: What do you think of the old saying “girls just get in the way of racing?”
DS: It's true
TH: What is your real dream car?
DS: Anything that can tow a race trailer
TH: Huge Whips, driving absolutely flat out or more calculated driving, smoother on the throttle?
DS: From what it feels like to me I'm punched everywhere at least in stock. Whether I'm ahead by 10 seconds or behind by 5 I feel like I'm strapped.
TH: Action Sports or Conventional sports, what do you follow in your free time?
DS: Action sports, I can't play unfortunately due to concussions but I enjoy watching them. In my free time I hangout with friends and do school work.
TH: Who did you look up to when you were an evenyounger racer, or who has been the biggest help to you as a driver?
DS: I looked up to Dakotah Phend when I was younger, because of what he did at a young age. My dad has been the biggest help by far, taking time off work to go to these big events and never letting me quit
TH: What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to a new up and coming racer?
DS: Start with stock 2WD buggy and work your way up. Don't switch your classes all the time, because it'll only hurt you.
Dreighton has had an epic year with wins at CRCRC, Hot Rod, The INS, a top 10 run at the ROAR Nitro Offroad Nationals, and an A main appearance at the ROAR 8th Scale Electric Nationals! Good job dude you deserve it!
