The 2012 Roar Region 2 Mid Atlantic Series consisted of five races spread over 6 months, kicking off just before Easter at Awesome RC in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and the series finale taking place this past weekend at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, Pennsylvania.
The series would allow one drop, using your best four finishes for overall score.
Team Associated's, Gunnar Rieck would attend only 4, and make every one of them count!
Gunnar's Team Associated FT RC8.2 and RC8TCE vehicles were both equipped with Novarossi engines by Murnan Modified Motors, AKA tires, Byrons Fuel, Avid bearings and accessories, Airtronics transmitter and servos and Upgrade graphics with bodies painted by PCR.
In Buggy Gunnar would TQ two events, while winning ALL four rounds for a perfect score to lock in the Championship title!
Truggy would see a similar occurrence, were Gunnar would TQ three of the rounds, winning two of them and finishing second at round 3. However, while leading the 30 minute final A main we would suffer a clutch bell bearing failure.
This would place Gunnar in last place for the final A main, leaving him second in the series, just four points out of a double championship.
