Last weekend we saw lots of good racing from the 2012 ROAR Carpet Onroad Nationals hosted by Mike's Hobby Shop in Carrollton, Texas. The event was a huge success on and off the track.

LiveRC's very own, Bob Kendall, had the following to say about the event: "From the moment I was picked up, to the moment I was dropped off at the airport, I was treated with an incredible amount of graciousness and hospitality! After being there for only a few hours, it felt like I had known the Mike's Hobby Shop crew for years!

Mike was very accommodating to me during my set up and all the way through the races and during tear down as well. He, his crew and the whole crew from ROAR were very supportive in making the coverage for this race a lot of fun and a success. I've seen good hopitality and support at other tracks as well, but this was above and beyond!"

On the track the racing was intense as the 2012 ROAR Carpet Onroad Champions were crowned!

Team Associated Race Report:

The ROAR Carpet On Road Nationals was held at Mike's Hobby Shop just outside of Dallas, TX in the suburb of Carrollton. Team Associated was well represented at the event with Keven Hébert, Mike Blackstock, Rick Hohwart, Sean Cochran and others all in attendance.

In the 1:12 Modified class, Keven Hébert and his 12R5.1 powered by Reedy and LRP laid down the fastest qualifier of the weekend in the final round to start on pole for the triple A-main events. However, the French Canadian wouldn't need three main events to claim his first Modified National Championship.

Rocketing from the pole position, Hébert left the field in A1 and never looked back, taking the victory ahead of teammate Mike Blackstock. In the second A Main, Hébert again got a great start; however, a bobble dropped him back to fifth place at one point. Staying focused, and showing the determination of a champion, Hébert found his way back to the lead and distanced himself from the field.

Congratulations to Keven Hébert on his first ROAR Modified National Championship and also to Northwest Team Associated/Reedy/LRP driver Kody Knudtson on his top-qualifying effort in 17.5 Touring Non-Timing.
