Seeding round 1 would see Infinity's Naoto Matsukura strike first taking the top time with a 53.843 over 3 consecutive laps. The Capricorn of Meen Vejrak would finish 2nd seed with reigning world champion  Serpent's Dominic Greiner with a 3rd place seed to start the day. Mugen Seiki's JJ Wang would seed 8th being the top American hope on home soil. The open practice top seed, Mugen's Robert Pietsch, would only be able to put down a 16th to start the day. Finally the fastest recorded lap would come from Vejrak with a 17.834.

Seeding round 2 had the Infinity of Lamberto Collari take the top seed with a time of 53.598. 2nd would be round 2 top seed, Matsukura, the driver still putting in a faster run than his first round time. 3rd was another Infinity driver this time with Tadahiko Sahashi. Robert Pietsch would break into the top 5 coming in 4th and Greiner would put in another top 5 with 5th. Matsukura would put in the fastest lap of the round with a 17.799.

Round 3 saw Mugen's Shoki Takahata top the timing sheets for the first time with a 53.759. This would be the first time in seeding that an Infinity would not claim the fastest time. Matsukura however would be second fastest again showing major consistency in the 3 lap format. Third would be Shepherd's Simon Kurzbuch with his first top 3 run. The Infinity of Teemo Leino would take 4th after improvements, and Xray would see their first top 5 run with Leo Arnold finishing 5th. Fast lap would go to the round's top seed Takahata with a 17.766.

Finally in round 4, Matsukura and Lamberto Collari would finish with the exact same time of 53.407. T. Sahashi would again make it an Infinty top 3 finishing 3rd. Pietsch would again put in another 4th with another Infinity of Andy Moore breaking into 5th in the final round. Moore would put in a 17.734 fast lap.

Seeding for the qualfiers would use an interesting structure that would take into account driver's two best seeding positions from the 4 rounds. Matsukura and Collari were both awarded 0 points for round 4, but Collari's round 2 time was faster than Matsukura's round 1 time giving Collari the overall top seed. T. Sahashi's two 3rd place finishes would land him 3rd overall going into qualifying followed by Pietsch 4th with a 4,4 score and Vejrak 5th with a 2,6 score.
