Hidden in the small town of El Centro, located in the South Eastern corner of California, Ricochet R/C raceway is the newest indoor track to come to the California market. Not a far trip from San Diego (2 hours east), and almost as close to Phoenix (3 hours west) this beautiful facility is definitely one of the few destination-worthy tracks.
The building itself is a retired Navy test building whose rafters are lined with water sprinklers should there be an issue; however nowadays it houses a R/C raceway, Along with a full service restaurant (and bar!) there are several giant rentable rooms, 1980s-era arcade as well as a massive trampoline room.
The concept of the track was first thought of by Mark Gaddis who has been a R/C enthusiast for over 40 years. After having several outdoor tracks over the years, he saw the vision to have a carpet track mated to these other businesses.
This town of 64,000 people has already embraced their new local track, and average over 50 entries a week. The local newspaper caught word of their first big race called the Carpet Classic, and was on hand to report on the action with full page column about the race.
