It isn't that often that Chico, California receives torrential downpours of rain, however, 2wd Qualifying/Main day of the IFMAR World Championships just happens to be one of those days. Due to heavy amounts of rain continuing to fall from the sky this morning, filling the track with water, qualifying has been cut short.
There will be no further qualifying in the 2wd buggy class, which means the Team Kyosho's Jared Tebo sits on top the field and is awarded TQ.
This is not the first time we have seen Tebo on top of qualifying at a World Championship event, however, if he can remain on top the field throughout the mains this will be his first 2wd World Championship victory.
The mains are currently postponed to later this afternoon as the track crew scrambles to get things back in shape.
