Venom Race Report:

REDSTARHOBBIES.COM /VENOM Australia driver, Jarred King put on a dominant performance last weekend at round 3 of the NITRO X challenge series at Maitland on the N.S.W coast of Australia. Jarred filed the following report:

Maitland held the round three of the Nitro X Series today . Nitro X Series has been run for a few years now and Maitland has always had a round along with other clubs such as Liverpool . The weather was cold but great and the track was in good condition developing a groove pretty early on in racing.

I arrived nice and early to throw my MP9 TKI2 onto the track to get a tune on my engine and work out fuel milage for the A MAIN and chose to use AKA’s IBeam in Super soft as the track was a little green so to speak, meaning it was a little loose.

The car was a weapon and starting laying down some sub 32 second laps which was faster than my first outing with this car a few weeks back which was 34 second laps.

The layout today for racing was 3 x 7 minute qualifiers and a 30 minute A MAIN. 2 of your qualifiers counted. I recently adopted a driving style of driving only at 90% and make sure you make them smooth runs so that’s exactly what I did, TQ round one over Multi National Champ Ari Bakla followed by Dallas Gardiner in the Serpent. Managing to do 13 laps meanwhile the rest of the pack were doing fast 12 lappers.

Round 2 and 3 was also TQ runs making me the overall TQ for the A MAIN also improving my times doing 13 laps in round one in 7 min 9, then 7 min 10, then 7 min 4 just shy of a 14 lapper.

Bakla wasn’t far behind, every run getting closer to my time therefore I knew he would be on pace by A MAIN time.

A main set off and I was in TQ and Bakla behind. Bakla had an issue early on I think and went back a few spots but slowly crawling back, meanwhile I had a flawless run and checked out early and never looked back. I had a tire issue and glow plug issue which cost me some time but took the overall win over Bakla with a 2 lap lead. Car was awesome all day and ran a mistake-free final.
