Jem and Orion win at the TITC

This year’s TITC was held at the beautiful accommodation of the RC Addict racing facility in Bangkok, where end of this year also the World Championship GP on road 1/10 will take place. The sugar watered high grip asphalt track, with its long straight and tight infield, is very demanding for both the driver as well material, with this year’s temperatures reaching a record (and very sweaty) 41C in the pit area, and 61C on the black racing line.

Once more an astonishing amount of more than 200 drivers in several classes, with the 13.5T class by far the largest attendance. At this race, as well in many other countries in Asia, the so called ‘’blinky O-timing mode’’ is non-existing (for the moment), so more important than ever it was to find a good balance with the battery/motor/ESC equipment; especially find the good timing and software setting in the ESC with a high power battery.

After practice and qualification finished late Saturday it was clear that Thailand’s own 14 year old Jem (Chavit S) had done his homework well, rocking around the track leaving his fellow 13.5T competitors eat some dust (actually in this case sugar water), with their bumpers never able to see up-close the Team Orion stickers on the rear of his yellow white body shell. On top of all that he secured himself a superb 4th place on the grid in the modified class!

Winning 4 straight faultless qualification rounds it was only to him to lose the game on the Sunday finals day. However at sound of the beep Jem not only showed his tremendous driving talents and his rocking fast Team Orion power combo, but also his almost icy calmness under the hot pressure of the other 9 competitors in the A final! Winning both of the A finals and thereby securing himself and his Team Orion powered Tamiya their well deserved TITC stock class winning trophy!
