Taiwan's biggest 1:8 nitro onroad event of the year saw more than 70 drivers racing this past weekend in Taipei including drivers from Hong Kong. Mugen Seiki's Takaaki Shimo and JJ Wang flew in for the event to join Taiwan's top nitro drivers. Shimo was top qualifier with JJ second off the starting grid. In the Finals, a clean start saw Shimo and JJ pulling away from the field racing closely before Shimo suffered a broken front belt and retired. JJ took over the lead and with perfect pit stops finished first in front of Taiwan's National Champion Wang Shengzhong, You Shangyi finished third.
JJ had this to say about his win, "Its great to see so many 8th scale drivers in Taiwan and the organizer and track was incredible. Thanks to all my sponsors for their support and Ai for a great job with my pit stops. I hope to be back in Taiwan to race again in the future."
