Connecticut’s Wolcott Hobbies was to be the scene of the ROAR Region 1 Championships the weekend of Dec 14-15, but the event was snowed out! A major snow storm dumped a foot of snow and many drivers simply could not get to the track, so the event was postponed until this past weekend, Dec. 28-29.
John Cravotta, driving his X Factory SCX – 60CF short course truck, dominated the class. John TQed round one of qualifying, lowered that time by 6 seconds in round two, and took another 4 seconds off in round three, putting himself solidly on the pole for the main event.
The SCX – 60CF was on rails throughout the main, and Cravotta made no mistakes while cruising to a convincing tone-to-tone win.
John also did well in stadium truck and buggy, driving his X – 60CF to third and his X – 6 Cubed to fifth in a large and stacked field.
