CML Race Report:
It was another packed meeting at Chesterfield for the BRCA 1/12th Circuit national and there was another success for the Associated RC12R5.2.
In the new 12th Circuit 17.5T class Keith Robertson used his Reedy powered car to good effect to take pole position for the A final. In a very close race Keith made an early error but fought back to take the win, just ahead of Andy Sawyer and Gavin Clinch.
This was Keith’s first time out with the car and the only set-up change made from kit was to swap the side springs to the slightly softer ‘silver’ version. To power the car he was using the Reedy 1S Lipo battery and Reedy Sonic 17.5t motor.
Current Champ Olly Jefferies was unable to attend due to the new addition to their family (congratulations!) but in his absence team-mate Zak Smith continued his rise up the 12th scale ranks with another fine performance. In the 10.5 class Zak had a terrible start to the A final but drove back up to take fifth place by the end. David Spashett was victorious ahead of Chris Kerswell and Mark Stiles. Both Zak and Mark were using the Reedy battery and Reedy Sonic 10.5t motor.
In the modified class Zak put in another good show to take sixth place with that legend David Spashett again taking the win from Chris Kerswell and Mick Farrell.
