Kevin Hawkinson wraps up his Championship run at the Flowood RC Points Series!
The Flowood R/C park points series sponsored by Hobbytown USA concluded the this weekend. This was a six round series stretching from January to June. The series saw competition from all states across the Southeast. With an average attendance of 75-100 racers per round, there was plenty of competition in all classes.
The stiffest competition came in the expert electric buggy class and expert nitro buggy class. Kevin was not able to make nitro in all rounds so he was only able to come out with a 4th overall due to a DNF in the final round (Broken throttle linkage). The nitro buggy was very competitive however, with two 2nds and a 3rd.
In electric buggy it was a different story. Winning all rounds attended, the electric buggy was extremely fast and consistent every round. With first place finishes in the first four rounds Kevin was able to lock up the championship early and cruise to the championship win. “I feel that the TLR buggy, Orion power, and Panther tires gave me the edge to take home the championship in dominant fashion.”
