Race report from Cody King (via Facebook):
Well Round 1 of the Grass Roots Racing Series at Thunder Alley is in the books, and it was a lot of fun. Qualifying was a little hectic as I had a battery go bad right before qualifier number two. So I ran someone else’s serpent car and was able to almost TQ and get myself to second on the grid. The start of the main I made a mistake in a blind spot and rolled over allowing JQ to get about a five second lead. He also would have a mistake in a bad spot and I was able to capitalize and pass for the lead. I would lead the rest of the main and was able to take the win! I am learning a lot about the new cars every time I go out and I’m really excited for the next couple years. Thank you Tobin Hammock for all the help throughout the day and the good pit stops.
