OCR Race Report:
The 2012 Race Season is underway, on a brand new very fast and technical circuit, it has been closed since being rebuilt until first practice at 6.00pm last night, with not one wheel turned on the new surface, it was anyones game, and with only two 10 minute practice sessions and with points at stake in the Series, it was always going to be a hard and fast night of racing and no one was disappointed with some awesome, super fast wheel to wheel racing.
Round 1 - Pro Buggy - As expected it was on between the Top guys, Nicol - Serpent, Tampe - MBX6R, Knauth - MBX6R and Ciccone - MBX6, The guys putting on an awesome show with Tampe taking the win ahead of Nicol, Knauth third 0.8 ahead of Ciccone. Tampe setting the lap record on the second last lap. Short Course Truck - A Truck saw some familiar names at the top, with Tampe taking the win over Knauth and Ciccone, Dean Baker in fourth Shane Ussher home in fifth. B Truck had Karlo Dayap taking the win ahead of Ben Swan and Dana Offord.
Round 2 - Pro Buggy - This round run in the opposite direction, tested everyone, Knauth coming to terms with it the best putting a lap on the field and setting the FTD, Ciccone coming through for second, Tampe in third. Short Course Truck - Saw Knauth take a 14.06 sec win over Baker, with Ussher finishing third, Dayap fourth and Harris filling the Top 5.
Round 3 - Pro Buggy - Nicol breaking through for a one lap win over Knauth, Tampe third, Paul Snowball home in fourth ahead of Gary Clark. Short Course Truck - Was all Tampe, setting the lap record and the FTD record to take a one lap win over harris nad Dayap finishing third.
Round 4 - Pro Buggy - Knauth seeting the Holeshot record and again putting it all together to take the win over Nicol, and Tampe, Ciccone and Raafs fourth and fifth, O'Connor, Oleta, Snowball, Clark and Lockrey rounding out the Top Ten. Short Course Truck - Tampe not getting it all his own way this round with Baker putting the pressure on race, Tampe in the end taking the win 3.86 secs ahead, with Harris in third.
Round 5 - Pro Buggy - The final round of the night, a very hectic race with Tampe putting a lap on the field to take the win ahead of Nicol and KnauthCiccone and Raafs rounding out the Top 5. Short Course Truck - Tampe with the hatrick, taking a commandingwin over Baker and Ussher.
An awesome night of racing with a very close finish in Pro Buggy with Nicol and Knauth on equal points at the end, the result decided on time over the night, 16.94 seconds seperating them at the end.
