Spearheaded by Kyle McBride, the Venom Australia / REDSTARHOBBIES.COM team had a very successful weekend on the Sunshine Coast. Kyle once again stamped his authority at one of the countries largest 1/8th buggy meetings. Kyle took the win in both Buggy and Truggy classes, in challenging weather conditions throughout the weekend. Kyle top Qualified the buggy class, and after an early mishap that put him almost half a lap down, Kyle's relentless determination and consistency saw him back up the front and challenging Mugen Factory driver Matt Griffin for the lead. Matt made a few errors and that is all it took for Kyle to take the win.
Venom Australia / REDSTARHOBBIES.COM team driver's Jarred King and new signing Scott Jones, also figured strongly. All three drivers made the main finals - a huge acheivement in a field of this quality. Jarred fought long and hard in the buggy final, battling with Matt Grifiin and Darren Perry for second and third place - with Jarred finally finishing on the Podium with a fantastic 3rd place in buggy. In the Truggy final Jarred suffered some bad luck, however Scott Jones barely missed out on a posium - coming in 4th place after a great fight from the back of the pack after having a hard time getting a good run in during qualifying.
